VisitorPing vs Cloudflare Web Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is free, privacy-first analytics that works from a JavaScript snippet, so you do not need to move your DNS or put your site behind Cloudflare's proxy. It uses no cookies or localStorage and deliberately counts visits rather than people. For aggregate traffic and page performance at no cost, it is hard to argue with. What it does not do is tell you about one visitor while they are still on the page.
What Cloudflare Web Analytics does better
- • Free.
- • No cookies, no localStorage and no fingerprinting — it counts visits, not individuals, which is a real privacy advantage.
- • Works on any site with a snippet; no DNS change or Cloudflare proxy needed.
- • Measures page performance from real visitors' browsers, which VisitorPing does not attempt.
What VisitorPing does that it does not
- • Individual visits as they happen, rather than totals.
- • A push notification on your phone when someone arrives.
- • Recognises a returning visitor, which Cloudflare's design deliberately avoids.

Which should you use
If you want free, private traffic numbers and a view of how fast your pages load, use Cloudflare Web Analytics. If what you actually want is to know when someone is on the site — and you would act on it — that is the job VisitorPing does, and it costs money where Cloudflare's does not.
