Anonymous by default

A first-party identifier in browser storage helps your website recognize a returning browser. Returning does not mean VisitorPing knows who that person is.

When you explicitly configure identity capture or supply a known identity, a visitor can be linked to contact information. Chat messages and information people deliberately submit through those features are separate from anonymous activity.

What activity can include

Page paths, referrers and campaign parameters, approximate location, device context, and engagement events such as scrolling, link clicks, and form submissions help explain a visit.

Ordinary form-submission tracking records the submission event and form context, not everything typed into a form. Additional features and connected services have their own data flows, described in the privacy policy.

Visitor history has a limit

These are visitor-history windows for active plans. Older visitor records are removed in daily batches. Account settings, billing records, aggregate counters, and other records follow separate retention rules.
