The rules a figure must clear before we publish it
These are enforced in the code that produces the reports, not in a policy document, and they are published now — before any number is — so they cannot be adjusted later to fit a result.
- • A figure is published only when at least 20 websites contribute to it.
- • Those websites must belong to at least 15 separate customers, so one customer with many sites cannot form a cohort alone.
- • The figure must rest on at least 1,000 observations.
- • No single website may account for more than 25% of a cohort, so no report describes one business in disguise.
- • Automated traffic, internal and test sites, and any customer who has opted out are removed before any of the above is counted.
- • A cohort failing any of these is withheld entirely rather than published with a warning.
