VisitorPing vs Plausible
Plausible is a well-built, privacy-first analytics tool with a deliberately simple dashboard, and it is open source if you would rather host it yourself. It reports aggregates. VisitorPing reports individual visits as they happen and tells your phone about them. If what you want is a clean, lightweight replacement for Google Analytics, Plausible is the better answer and we would rather say so.
What Plausible does better
- • A genuinely excellent single-page dashboard that most people can read without training.
- • Open source, with a self-hosted community edition if you want your data on your own machine.
- • EU data residency across their plans, which simplifies a GDPR conversation.
- • A very small script, which matters if page weight is a concern.
What VisitorPing does that it does not
- • Plausible shows you totals. VisitorPing shows you a visitor, and tells you while they are still there.
- • Alerts on a phone rather than a dashboard you have to remember to open.
- • Lead scoring, so an alert means something rather than firing on every visit.
- • SEO work from your Search Console data, which Plausible does not attempt.

Which should you use
Choose Plausible if you want simple, private analytics and you are content to go and look at them. Choose VisitorPing if the problem is that nobody goes and looks. They coexist happily — several of our customers run both.
Last checked 2026-08-29. We do not quote Plausible's prices here, because a price we copied once goes out of date and then misleads you — check theirs directly . If anything here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
Find what is costing you search clicks, then watch the fix work.
VisitorPing reads your own Search Console data for the pages losing clicks, then rings your phone the moment someone lands on your website.
