VisitorPing vs Hotjar
Hotjar is a behaviour analytics tool: session recordings, heatmaps and on-page surveys, used mostly to work out why a page is not converting. VisitorPing is not a replacement for that. The overlap is narrow, and if your question is why visitors abandon a form, Hotjar answers it and we do not.
What Hotjar does better
- • Full session replay, which shows you exactly what someone did on the page.
- • Heatmaps across many sessions, useful for layout and design decisions.
- • On-site surveys and feedback widgets built in.
- • A mature toolkit for conversion rate work specifically.
What VisitorPing does that it does not
- • Hotjar is reviewed after the fact. VisitorPing tells you during the visit.
- • A phone alert rather than a recording to watch later.
- • Built for acting on one visitor, not for analysing a hundred.
- • SEO and search performance work, which Hotjar does not cover.
Side by side
| Aspect | Hotjar | VisitorPing |
|---|---|---|
| Primary use | Why a page does not convert | That someone is on the page now |
| When you look | Afterwards, reviewing recordings | While it is happening |
| Output | Recordings, heatmaps, survey answers | A notification you can act on |
| Best for | Improving a page | Catching an enquiry |
Which should you use
Different jobs. If you are redesigning a landing page, use Hotjar. If a visit from the right person is worth a phone call, use VisitorPing. Businesses selling something expensive and infrequent tend to want the second; businesses optimising a high-volume checkout tend to want the first.

Find what is costing you search clicks, then watch the fix work.
VisitorPing reads your own Search Console data for the pages losing clicks, then rings your phone the moment someone lands on your website.
